"29TH DIVISION, A DIVISION OF HEROES" by Laurent Lefebvre

"I was privileged to have had the opportunity to review this book of the wartime experiences of the 29th Infantry Division soldiers who fought to free the citizens of Europe from Nazi occupation during WWII. I find that book does an outstanding job of capturing their experiences before and during this Great War of Liberation.

This book, an accumulation of histirical events, is a must for anyone intersted in gaining an understanding of the sacrifices these young men made by placing their lives in danger to liberate Eastern Europe. They were truly the "Greatest Generation".

The French citizens in the Normany area continue to honor the soldiers who came across the Atlantic to free them frm the Nazi occupation. Laurent Lefebvre has spent many hours discussing their experiences with them. He has dedicated himself to bring their experiences together in this book so that future generations will not forget what they did in WWII....

This summary of the interviews with the veterans will provide a permanente history of the 29th Infantry Division in WWII for both the French and the families of these veterans." Major general (Ret.) Boyd M. Cook (Former Commander 29th Infantr Division (Light) 1987-1989)

"Again Laurent Lefebvre has confirmed the title of "29th Division Historian of France." This book gives a most accurate and detailed account of the 29th and the sacrifices they made to secure the freedom of so many countries. Laurent's tireless efforts and dedication to the 29th Division is to be commended. This is another must read book and it makes me pround to be a part of this time in history." James L. Lockhart - 29th Division, 115th Regiment

"A collection of some of the experiences of the soldiers of the 29th Infantry Division in WWII. Laurent Lefebvre has focused on the individual and each soldier in his own words tells of the events as he saw them to accomplish their mission." Glenwood Hankins - 29th Division, 116th Regiment
