Uncle Clay is my D Day hero. First wave, Omaha Beach, Dog White Sector. Silver Star awarded for valor displayed on June 8, two days after D Day. A striking figure of a man. Could have been featured on a recruitment poster. Uncle Clay, I love you!

STRATTON HERBERT - 115TH INFANTRY REGIMENT
My father Herbert Stratton was in the 29th division 115th infantry regiment 1battalion company b. he was a 1st Sergeant and landed in the second wave on omaha beach. He was transported to the beach on LCI-L 411 ( landing craft infantry large). He also fought in St Lo and the battle for Brest .

LANGFORD GEORGE M - 116TH INFANTRY REGIMENT
This is my great uncle that is buried in Normandy amongst all the other great and brave men. He was born in 1922 and entered service from Kentucky in 1943 and died July 30, 1944. He was called to duty from the replacement depot on June 19, 1944. 116th i.r 29th i.d 2nd bat. company e.
