HOPE CLAUDE E - 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION
On a recent visit to the American Cemetary at Omaha Beach, my first, I brought with me a small flag from my birthday last year (I was born on the 4th of July in 1953). I wanted to honor a d-day veteran by placing it on a grave. I chose the grave of Pvt Claude E. Hope a young man who died on d-day.

CUNNINGHAM BERNARD S - 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION
Barney was my father in law who died in the 1980's. I was married to his son, Michael Cunningham who served in the 82nd Airborne Division. After watching Band of Brothers, I found this site by chance and was amazed to find that he was part of this unforgettable history.

RUST HARRY S - 29TH INFANTRY DIVISION
This Veteran was my Mothers brother, and actually was from Hopewell, Virginia. Prior to joining the 29th worked in the mill in Hopewell as well as helped other uncle in the independent trucking business. He was returned home in 1947 and is buried at the Hopewell Cemetery overlooking the Appomattox.
